Mine leaks around the starter, at both ends or the speedometer cable, and at the shifter. All the drips end up coming out at the front peg, just where yours leaks. Has done it since new, I just keep the oil level topped up and let it do its thing. The savage is a clone of a 1960's English built single. They leaked. The Savage leaks. Call it heritage, a territorial marking, whatever. Unless it becomes a major leak, it isn't worth the struggle to change the seals. The leaks give it some character.
Just my opinion, I could be wrong.
